Prof. Ph.D. Ante Obad, MD, spec

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb in 1997 and obtained the title of Doctor of Medicine. He continued his education at a postgraduate course, which he completed at the University of Zagreb in 2000, defending his master's thesis on the topic "Ultrasound in clinical medicine - gastroenterology". After that, in the period from 1999 to 2003, at KBC Split and KB Dubrava, he continued his specialization in internal medicine, for which he passed the specialist exam in 2003, and then in 2007 he completed his subspecialization in the field of cardiology. The doctoral studies in the field of Biomedicine and Health ended in 2009 with the defense of a doctoral dissertation on the topic of cardiovascular physiology "The influence of diving with compressed air and the use of vitamins C and E on selected functions of the human heart and endothelial function of the brachial artery."

In parallel, he developed a career in science and higher education, first as a senior assistant (researcher) at the Department of Physiology and Biophysics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Split, 2004-2010, then as an assistant professor in 2010-2011 . After 2011, he moved to the University Department of Health Studies, where he still works today as an associate professor (2019) and as the deputy head and his assistant for innovation and development. Previously, he held the position of assistant head for finance of the University Department of Health Studies in 2011-2016, acting head of the University Department of Health Studies in 2016-2017. and Deputy Acting Head of the University Department of Health Studies and Assistant Acting Head of the University Department of Health Studies for Science 2019-2020.

Prof. Ph.D. Ante Obad participates in numerous domestic and foreign congresses as an invited lecturer, organizer and co-organizer.

He also actively participates in the implementation of scientific projects:

• Regulation of the blood flow to the skeletal muscle, scientific project (0216007) – coinvestigator

• Anaerobic exercise is reducing formation of venous gas bubbles in divers, scientific project (0216006) – coinvestigator

• Individual detection of venous gas bubbles during recreational diving, technological project (TP-01/0216-02) – coinvestigator

• Apnea diving and cardiovascular system, scientific project (216-2160133-0330) – principal investigator

• Diving with compressed air and cardiovascular system, scientific project (216-2160133-0130) — coinvestigator

As an author and co-author, he participated in the publication of more than 38 scientific and professional papers in the most prestigious (CC) world journals, 11 presentations at professional congresses, with over 900 scientific citations.
