Pulse oximetry testing

Pulse oximetry is a noninvasive test that measures the oxygen saturation level of your blood. It provides crucial information about how well oxygen is being transported to the parts of your body furthest from your heart, such as your arms and legs.
It is a valuable tool for quickly and accurately assessing oxygen levels in the blood, helping healthcare providers make informed decisions about diagnosis and treatment.

Fitting and wearing the monitor

our technician will come to your home and handle the entire process from start to finish, making it easy and convenient for you. You don’t need to worry about any setup or preparation—our team will take care of every detail to ensure accurate results.

Once our technician arrives, they will gently clip the pulse oximeter to your fingertip. This process is quick, painless, and results will appear within seconds. Our technician will guide you through any small steps, like staying still, to help achieve the best possible reading.

Important Tips for the Best Readings

While our technician will manage everything, here are a few helpful points to know ahead of time:

  • Nail Polish or Artificial Nails: Dark nail polish or artificial nails can interfere with the sensor, so removing polish in advance can help. If this isn’t possible, don’t worry—our technician can select an alternate finger.

  • Warm Hands: Good blood flow helps with accurate readings. If your hands are cold, our technician may ask you to warm them briefly.

  • Minimal Movement: Staying still during the test helps the device provide a steady, accurate reading. Our technician will guide you to sit relaxed for the best results.

With our in-home service, you can feel comfortable knowing that everything will be taken care of right where you are. Our team is here to answer any questions and ensure you have a seamless, stress-free experience.

Important Tips for the Best Readings

Once you have returned your device, one of the team will analyse your recording and produce a report within 72 hours, All the results are put into the electronic patient record system. These results are then available immediately for your doctor to look at.
